How to Set Up a Schedule Policy Override with an Earning Configuration

Enhancing scheduling flexibility with an earning configuration override.

Admins can set up an earning configuration to be used to override any rate, rate code, job, task, or cost center for specific days designated in a schedule policy rule, or on an employee’s profile.

When generating a schedule using this policy, the earning configuration applies the specified allocations to the shifts on those designated days.


Add an earning configuration

  1. Sign in to your Fingercheck admin account.

  2. Click on the SETUP tab > Payroll > Earning Configurations.

  3. Click Add.

  4. Enter the details for the earning configuration (required fields marked with an asterisk):

    1. Code: short description of the earning configuration.

    2. Description: description of the earning configuration.

  5. Select the earning configuration settings:

    1. The cost center levels that are currently set up will be visible for you to select a specific department. The screenshot below shows that the cost center levels set up are Product Design, Operations, Sales, and Executive.

    2. Job selection for specific jobs.

    3. Rate: enter a rate to be paid for this earning configuration.

    4. Rate Code: select a rate code to be paid under for this earning configuration.

  6. Click Save.


Apply an earning configuration to all employees

The earning configuration can be applied to all employees set up with a schedule policy by editing a schedule rule.

  1. Sign in to your Fingercheck admin account.

  2. Click on the SETUP tab > Policies > Schedule Policies.

  3. Click the pencil icon to select an existing policy, or Add to enter a new schedule policy.

  4. Scroll down to the Earnings section and select the Earning Configuration you just set up.

  5. Click Apply.


Apply an earning configuration to a specific employee

The earning configuration can be applied to an individual employee under their profile.

  1. Sign in to your Fingercheck admin account.

  2. Click on the EMPLOYEES tab and select an employee by clicking on their name or employee number.

  3. Click the pencil icon to select an existing schedule policy, or Add to enter a new schedule policy.

  4. Scroll down to the Earning section and select the Earning Configuration you just set up.

  5. Click Save.
