Team Chat gives you the tools you need to stay engaged and productive when chatting 1:1, taking part in group discussions, or sharing files.

Team Chat is a powerful and easy-to-use messaging app that is meant to improve communication within your company and team. Now you can easily message your supervisor or fellow co-workers. You can send voice messages, photos, and files with a few clicks. It works on both web and mobile. Download the mobile app: Apple App Store or Google Play.

  • Chat 1:1 with other team members.

  • Create groups to discuss scheduling or special projects.

  • Share files and images.


Getting Started

Logging In

  • Login: Begin by logging into your account using the credentials provided by your organization or community.

  • Click on the Team Chat icon at the top right of your screen.

Navigating the Interface

  • Dashboard: Once logged in, you'll see the main dashboard, which includes your recent chats, groups, and contacts.


Features and Usage

1:1 Chats

  • Starting a chat: To start a conversation, click on a contact from your contact list. This opens a chat window where you can send and receive messages.

  • Sending messages: Type your message in the text box and press Enter to send. You can also use emojis to make your conversations more expressive.

Group Chats

  • Participating in groups: In group chats, you can send messages, share files, and participate in discussions with multiple members at once.

  • Creating a group: To create a group:

    • Click on the + icon in Team Chat.

    • Select the group type:

      • Public: Discoverable by anyone in the company.

      • Private: Invitation only.

    • Give the group a nickname.

  • Choose team members to be part of the group (this step is optional and can be completed later).

  • Joining a group: Public groups can be found in the Groups tab. Private groups require an invitation from an existing member.

  • Edit a Group: Click on the ‘i’ icon in a group to see additional settings and changes you can make.

  • Notify people in your group: A push notification is triggered when you @ mention someone.

    • You cannot notify all people in the group or @ mention all.

File Sharing

  • Attaching Files: Click the ‘+’ icon in the chat window to attach files.

    • You can share images, documents, videos, and more.

  • Viewing Files: Shared files can be viewed directly in the chat window or downloaded for offline use.

Voice Notes

  • Recording Notes: Click on the microphone icon in the message composer to record a voice note. Release the button to send the note.

Reactions and Emojis

  • Reacting to Messages: Hover over a message to see the reaction options. Click on an emoji to react to a message.

  • Using Emojis: Click on the emoji icon in the text box to open the emoji picker and add emojis to your messages.

Threads

  • Reply in a Thread: You can hover over a message to reply to it in a thread. Threads coordinate message-specific discussions. They allow in-depth discussions without cluttering channels or direct messages.


Customizing Your Experience

Notifications

  • Setting Preferences: Customize your notification settings to receive alerts for new messages, mentions, and more.

User Profile

  • Editing Profile: Update your profile picture and other personal information by clicking on your avatar or username.

Team Chat is easy to use, so it is simple for people to stay in touch, talk to each other, and share resources.
