Employee incident types and ratings play a pivotal role in maintaining a safe and productive work environment. They provide a structured system for categorizing and evaluating various incidents and behaviors that occur in the workplace.

Fingercheck allows you to track employee incidents when needed. Tracking incidents is a feature to help you gain a clear understanding of how to use employee incident types and ratings to enhance workplace safety, employee performance, and overall operational efficiency.

Add Incident Types to your company

An Incident Type is the type of incident that the employee experienced in the workplace. The types of incidents you add is dependent on what you would like to track. You can track the employee’s tardiness, absenteeism, and job performance. You can even track more serious incidents such as workplace accidents the employee may experience like a fall, burn, or crash.

  1. Log in to your Fingercheck account as an Administrator.

  2. Select SETUP > System Lookups.

  3. Locate Incidents1 code and click the pencil icon to edit.

  4. Click Add to enter a new Incident Type.

  5. Enter the Incident details:

    1. Code: type of incident would be the generic description such as a fall, collision, attendance, safety, conduct, work performance, etc..

    2. Description: more descriptive identifier of the incident such as slip, auto, time and attendance violation, violation of safety protocols, conduct issue with coworker, substandard job performance, etc..

  6. Click Apply.

  7. Click Save.

Add an Incident Rating

An Incident Rating allows you to enter a metric that aids in assessing the seriousness of each incident during the evaluation of employee performance or the safety of the company. You have the flexibility to establish this rating internally, or you can opt to utilize an industry or national average as a reference point to assess safety benchmarks and gauge employee performance.

  1. Log in to your Fingercheck account as an Administrator.

  2. Select SETUP > System Lookups.

  3. Locate Incidents2 code and click the pencil icon to edit.

  4. Click Add to enter a new Incident Rating.

  5. Enter the Rating details:

    1. Code: type of rating would be the generic description such as severity 1, severity 2, or more simpler just 1, 2, 3, etc..

    2. Description: more descriptive identifier of the rating such as this specific rating relates to falls, burns, collisions, or performance rating such as bad, good, excellent, etc..

  6. Click Apply.

  7. Click Save.
