How to Add Assets Assigned to Employees

Company property provided to employees can be tracked in Fingercheck.

Companies furnish employees with phones, laptops, monitors, and other resources to fulfill their designated responsibilities. The employee profile serves as an effective means to monitor the company property held by employees.

Employee profiles include many options for tracking HR items such as assets. Within the HR section of the employee profile, you can input company assets presently held by the employee.


Add Asset Types to your company

  1. Log in to your Fingercheck account as an Administrator.

  2. Select SETUP > System Lookups.

  3. Locate Assets1 code and click the pencil icon to edit.

  4. Click Add to enter a new Asset Type.

  5. Enter the Asset details:

    1. Code: type of asset would be the generic description such as vehicle, phone, monitor, laptop, etc.

    2. Description: more descriptive identifier of the asset such as Toyota, Honda Accord, iPhone 15, Samsung Galaxy, Macbook Air 15, Lenovo, etc.

  6. Click Apply.

  7. Click Save.


Add Assets to the employee profile

  1. Log in to your Fingercheck account as an Administrator.

  2. Click the EMPLOYEES tab, and click an employee's name or number to open their profile.

  3. Click HR.

  4. Select Assets.

  5. Click Add.

  6. Complete the fields.

    1. Asset Type: the type of asset

    2. Asset Number: serial or inventory number

    3. Asset Value: cost of the asset

    4. Assign Date: date the asset is assigned to the employee

    5. Returned Date: date the employee returned the asset

    6. Returned: check the box when the employee returned the asset

    7. Include In Notification: check the box to notify the employee that you received the asset. If you see an Include in Notification checkbox and you create a notification as described in How to Send Reminders About HR-Related Tasks, select the checkbox to enable the notification.

    8. Enter any notes about the asset

  7. Click Save.


Create employee asset custom report

  1. Log in to your Fingercheck account as an Administrator.

  2. Hover over the REPORTS tab.

  3. Select Company.

  4. Click Custom+.

  5. Scroll through the reports or enter asset in the search field.

  6. Click Select to select the EmpAssets report.

  7. Enter Code

  8. Select the Default Export Type from the dropdown menu.

  9. Click Start.

  10. Drag and drop employee and asset details that should be included in the report.

  11. Click Save Report.

View employee asset custom report

  1. Log in to your Fingercheck account as an Administrator.

  2. Hover over the REPORTS tab.

  3. Select Company.

  4. Click the Custom tab.

  5. Click Run Report for the Employee Asset report.

  6. Select employees.

  7. Click Preview or Download to view details of the Employee Asset report.
