How to Add a Supervisor

You can make an employee a supervisor and then assign that supervisor to other employees.

At some companies, certain employees are entrusted with supervisory roles over their peers, offering a structured approach to management.

When you designate an employee as a supervisor within Fingercheck, it unlocks a range of functionalities. Not only can you filter reports based on this designation and send notifications specific to their role, but you can also organize your workforce more efficiently by filtering employees according to their supervisor. Moreover, supervisors have the ability to unlock time clocks, streamlining the workflow process.

However, it's important to note that merely assigning someone as a supervisor doesn't automatically grant them access to log in as one. To enable this functionality, you'll need to assign them a supervisor role. For detailed steps on this, refer to our article How to Set Up Custom Roles.

Make an employee a supervisor

  1. Log in to your Fingercheck account as an Administrator.

  2. Click the EMPLOYEES tab, and click the employee's number to open their profile.

  3. Under Personal, click Position and Rates.

  4. Click the Edit icon (pencil) for the Details section.

  5. Select the Is Supervisor checkbox.

  6. Click Save.


Give admin privileges to the employee to lock a device

After you have selected the Is Supervisor checkbox for an employee as described above, you can allow the employee to lock specific clocks.

  1. On the employee's profile, click Clock Info.

  2. Click the hamburger icon, and select Send Employee to Clock.

  3. In the pop-up window that appears, select the clocks, and click Send.


Assign an employee to a supervisor

  1. Log in to your Fingercheck account as an Administrator.

  2. Click the EMPLOYEES tab, and click the employee's number to open their profile.

  3. Under Personal, click Position and Rates.

  4. Click the Edit icon (pencil) for the Details section.

  5. From the Supervisor drop-down list, select the supervisor.

  6. Click Save.
