How To Use SFTP to Securely Transfer Files from Fingercheck to a Remote Server

Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) is a network protocol that transfers files by using secure shell encryption. This offers a high level of security for sending and receiving file transfers. This article describes how to use SFTP to securely transfer files from Fingercheck to a remote server.

How to Send Files

  1. Log in to your Fingercheck account as an Administrator.

  2. Click the SETUP tab > System > Scheduled Tasks.

    The Scheduled Tasks window appears.

  3. Click Add.
    The Scheduled Task Information section appears.

  4. In the Code field, enter an abbreviated name.
    In combination with the Description field, this makes up the full name of the policy as displayed in other areas of Fingercheck.

    Important: If you want to send this report every time you run payroll, enter AutoSendToPayrollService in the Code field.

  5. In the Description field, enter a short descriptive name.

  6. Scroll down to the Tasks Actions section, and click Add.

    The Add Job Action pop-up window appears.

  7. From the Job Action drop-down list, select AUREPSFTP - Automatically Upload Report to SFTP.

  8. Complete the Job Parameters fields that appear.

    Scroll down to view all of the fields, most of which are required fields.

  9. From the ReportCode drop-down list at the bottom of the window, select the report that you want to send.

  10. Click Apply.

  11. (Optional) Scroll down to the Task Triggers section, click Add, and add a job trigger.

    You can set a schedule for the report, or if you entered AutoSendToPayrollService in the Code field, you do not need a trigger.

  12. Click Apply.

  13. Click Save to save the task.
