Schedule: Shift Punch Status

The shift status feature allows administrators to easily monitor the status of each shift, punch times, and employees at a glance.

What is punch status?

  • Punch status indicators

    • The shift overview displays a clear indicator for each shift's status, allowing admins to quickly identify:

      • Employees who are currently punched in.

      • Shifts without a punch

      • Shifts that have been completed.

  • Punch details on hover

    • Admins can view the actual punch in and punch out times for each employee by hovering over the shift details. This provides quick access to detailed time information without needing to navigate away from the schedule view.

  • View by employee

    • The schedule view allows admins to see the status of each employee at a glance, displaying indicators for:

      • Employees who are currently punched in.

      • Employees who have no punch.

      • Employees who have completed their shift.


Filter shifts by status

To streamline schedule management, admins can filter the schedule by the following shift statuses:

  • Punched in: View shifts where employees are currently punched in. (Green arrow)

  • Missed punch: View shifts where there are no punches recorded. (Red X)

  • Punched out: View shifts where employees have punched out. (Blue arrow)

All of the options are selected by default. Punch status is visible in any View by.


How to use the shift punch status

  1. Viewing punch status indicators

    • Navigate to the schedule calendar on the schedule page.

    • Indicators will display the current status of each shift, making it easy to identify the status at a glance.

      • Green arrow: Punched in

      • Blue arrow: Punched out

      • Red X: No punch after shift scheduled start time (missed punch)

2. Viewing punch details

  • Hover over a specific shift to view the punch in and punch out times.

  • Detailed time information will appear, providing quick access to punch records.

3. Filtering the schedule

  • Use the filter options to view shifts based on their status.

  • Select "Punched in," "Missed Punch," or "Punched out" to refine the schedule view and focus on specific statuses.

This feature enhances the ability of admins to manage and monitor employee shifts efficiently, ensuring that all punches are accounted for and shift statuses are clear.
