When you offer medical, dental, and vision insurance benefits to your employees, you will need to add deduction codes in Fingercheck. Pre-defined templates allow you to create pre-tax deductions in compliance with the federal guidelines on Section 125 (cafeteria plans). See the IRS website for more information.

After you create deductions, you can also create employee benefits offerings.

Create deductions for medical, dental, and vision benefits

  1. Log in to your Fingercheck account as an Administrator.

  2. Click the SETUP tab > Payroll > Deductions.

  3. Click Add.
A list of predefined deductions appears.

  4. Select the Add button for Medical (Pre-Tax), Dental (Pre-Tax), or Vision (Pre-Tax) deductions.

You can also set up deductions for Health Savings Accounts (HSAs).

  5. In the confirmation boxes that appear, click OK.

The deduction is automatically added to the list of deductions in Fingercheck.

  6. Add the deduction to your employee's profile as described in How to Create Deduction Codes.
If you create employee benefits offerings, the deduction codes are automatically added when the employee selects the offering.
