Learn how to efficiently copy shifts to your schedule. The copy schedule feature in Fingercheck allows you to easily replicate shifts with the same setup across different dates.

Copy Shifts to a New Schedule

Follow these steps to copy shifts to another schedule:

  1. Sign In: Log in to Fingercheck as an Administrator or Supervisor (with scheduling permissions).

  2. Navigate to Schedule Tab: Click the Schedule tab.

  3. Select Schedule: Go to the weekly schedule and/or shifts that you want to copy.

  4. Quick Actions: Click the Quick Actions (or hamburger) icon.

  5. Choose Copy Shifts: In the dropdown menu, select Copy Shifts.

6. Copy Shifts Pop-up: The Copy Shifts pop-up will appear, allowing you to copy the daily shift schedules from one week to another.

  • Select Dates: Choose the dates you want to copy over. Click on the days; the selected days will turn blue. (by default they are all selected)

  • Options:

    • Only Filtered Employees: Select this to copy the shifts only to the filtered employees for that week. For example, if you have set shifts for a specific job or task, it will only copy those filtered employees.

    • Also Copy Open Shifts: Choose this option to copy over both open shifts and employee-assigned shifts.

    • Override Default Values: Check this box if you want to change fields from the original schedule.

  • Copy Schedule: Click the Copy shifts button.

  • View Copied Shifts: You will be returned to the schedule calendar to view the copied shifts for the dates you selected.

Copying and Pasting Shifts

To copy and paste individual shifts:

  1. Copy Shift: Hover over a shift schedule and select the Copy icon (the shift can be published or unpublished).

2. Paste Shift: Hover over the cell where you want to add the shift and click the Paste icon.

Copy and paste shifts by drag and drop

Drag and drop shifts allow you to quickly schedule an employee or replace an employee for a shift.

  1. Select the Schedule tab.

  2. Drag and drop the shift to the employee’s schedule.

    1. If you drag and drop an open shift that has multiple shifts available, the number of available shifts will be reduced.

    2. You can drag and drop to change the assigned job, task, department, or cost center

    3. You can drag a shift into a different tab or group.

That's it! You've successfully copied the selected employees' daily schedules to another daily or weekly schedule.
