Prevailing wages, a function used to pay construction workers on public construction worksites, is a feasible option with Fingercheck. If you have run into this type of scenario and need to know how to set it up using our system, well here is how!
You'll want to start off by creating an Earning Code (optional)
If you want the job with prevailing wages to have it's own earning code rather than using the earning codes in your system currently (Regular, OT, etc.), then you will want to navigate over to Setup > Payroll > Earnings.
Please note: You should only do this if you want to separate the earning code from the other earning codes on the time sheet and pay stub.
Within this section, you can press the "+ Add" button as well, and hit the "Add Custom" button from the window that pops up.
Here is what the window will look like when adding the earning code.
Now, once you created the rate code and [optional] created the earning code, you can move forward and create the Job.
To do so, please navigate into Setup > Company > Jobs and select the "+ Add" button.
The most important fields when adding the Job, besides the required fields, are the:
and Earning Code fields. Filling in these both fields ensures this job functions within the prevailing wage standards needed.
This is where the rate and (if created) earning codes come into play as well, as they can be selected within the drop-down of options for each field.
The rate for this job is entered under "Rate", and can always be adjusted by editing the job and adjusting the rate accordingly.
Upon saving this Job, YOUR job here is done! As long this job is used for the employee when they punch in/out, the adjusted rate will be applied.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how you set up prevailing wages on Fingercheck!
