The Employee Data section of the Fingercheck Setup Wizard allows you to choose which way you want to input employee information, such as their names, addresses, positions, birthdates, social security numbers, and much more, into your new Fingercheck account.
You can choose to do so by uploading a spreadsheet file with all of the information, or, you can use the built-in "Add Employee" function to add each employee manually.
Here, we'll explain what each of the options entails, and suggest which might be best for you.
Uploading a File
Uploading a file is the option available for if you're a larger company with a lot of employees, as it might be easier to deal with formatting a spreadsheet file (especially if you already have one from another payroll provider/HR software). It allows you to provide us with an Excel spreadsheet that has all of the employees' information inside, so that we may handle uploading it into your company.
To start, you'll need a template file. Click here to download a sample spreadsheet.
On the sample spreadsheet, start adding your employees into the correct columns. The absolutely necessary/required fields include first name, last name, employee number, gender (“Male” or “Female” must be typed out), employee status (which must be typed out as “active” or letter A), and, if your employees will be clocking in at a time clock, a clock number.
The clock number can be the same as your employee number, however, clock numbers cannot be alphanumeric so you'll want to remove any letters from the number.
Add Employees Manually
Adding employees manually is the recommended option for smaller companies with not that many employees. It entails properly going through the Fingercheck "Add Employee" tool, which is also how you will go about adding employees to the roster past this stage.
Adding an employee through our "Add Employee" tool is one of the most simple and straight-forward processes you'll encounter within Fingercheck. In no time at all, you'll have the routine down pat.
Just like with creating a spreadsheet file, be sure to have the employee's First and Last Name, Employee Number, and Gender readily available, as well as a clock number if you intend to make use of one of our biometric clocks.
