Employees: How to Change Your Time Display from Decimal To Minutes

Some payroll workers opt for the decimal format, and others settle on minutes.

You can select your preferred time display for their worked hours: decimal format or minute format. The difference in how time is displayed can change how you understand your time card and hours worked. Some people find it easier to visually comprehend time in the minute format, whereas others might prefer to read time in decimals. For example, 30 minutes can be depicted as 30 or .50.

Tip: To convert minutes into decimals, run an internet search for "Convert minutes to hours" to find a converter, or you can divide the number of minutes by 60 (20/60=0.333...)


Adjust your time display settings on the web application

  1. Log in to your Fingercheck account on app.fingercheck.com.

  2. Click MY ACCOUNT on the left column of the window.

  3. Click Preferences.

  4. From the Hours Format Display drop-down list, select the option you prefer: HoursAndDecimal or HoursAndMinutes.

  5. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and click Save.

  6. To view these changes, log out of your account and log in again.


Adjust your time display settings on the mobile application

  1. Log in to the Fingercheck Mobile app as an employee.

  2. Tap the hamburger icon to open the menu.

  3. Tap your name so that you can access the PREFERENCES option.

  4. Tap PREFERENCES.

  5. Under Hour Format, select the option you prefer: Minutes or Decimal.

    Your selection is automatically saved.
