Employee Guide to Self-Onboarding

Recently hired? Congratulations! On your first day, your employer may ask you to self-onboard with FingerCheck360. Your employer uses FingerCheck360 to review, manage, and track your worked time and also to pay you. In order to get you set up with payroll, you'll need to provide some preliminary information to get started.

FingerCheck360 provides a completely paperless digital onboarding experience. If you're reading this guide, you probably already received the email your administrator sent inviting you to self-onboard. The email should include a link that will get you started with the onboarding process.  If you haven't received an email, please check in with your manager to verify that you've been invited to self-onboard.

Once you click the link, here's what to do: 
 

Create Your Account Login
 

  • First you need to create your account login. Enter your desired username and password. The company code will be pre-filled (remember the company code, you'll be needing it every time you log in). Then click "Sign In." 


Personal Info

  • Once you've logged in you'll be directed to the first step, "Personal Info". This will require you to provide your address and social security number. If you'd like, you can also add your contact information, date of birth, and a profile photo of yourself.  Once you are finished, click "Save And Continue." 

  • The next step "Emergency Contacts," is optional - if you'd like you can put down contact information for one of your emergency contacts. If you have more then one, simply click the "+" symbol to add another. Once you are finished, click "Save And Continue." 

 

  • The information you provide in the next step, "Tax Withholding," is used by FingerCheck360 to fill out a personalized, electronic W-4 Form for you. The filing status and the number of your exemptions you enter determine the amount of tax to withhold from your pay. If you'd like, you can withhold an additional amount from your pay for each of the tax withholdings by entering a fixed amount or a percentage of your income to withhold. 

  • Once you make a selection, the system will ask if you'd like to apply the same filing status for the other withholdings. You can choose to copy it or not. At the bottom, you'll be asked to provide your signature attesting to the truthfulness and authenticity of the information provided thus far in the form and will be placed in the W4 form for you. Then click "Save and Continue." 

  • Next, in "Payment Details," select the payment method you would like be payed - check or direct deposit. 

  • If you choose "Direct Deposit," additional information will appear, asking for your routing number, bank account number, account type, and nickname for your bank account.

    Note: If you have more than one account, you can split your net pay across multiple accounts by selecting a percentage or amount of the net pay to deposit into that account. The rest of the net pay, you can add additional account or will be printed in a check.  Once finished, click "Save and Continue." 


  • The next step you will be filling out the I-9 from online. The I-9 form is to verify both identity and eligibility to work in the United States. First, attest your eligibility to work in the United States by selecting the legal status that applies to you. This document also requires your signature. 

    Once you complete this final step, a completed electronic I-9 form will be generated and stored for you.

  • The last step is to provide documents to support your Employment Eligibility Verification or identity.

    Example: If you are a U.S. citizen and you have a U.S. Passport, upload the document here. If you don't have a passport, you can select "None of the Above," and provide two other documents. Then click "Save." 

Now you have completed the self-onboarding process! Go ahead and click on "Send Email & Sign Out" to send your system administrator a notification. 

You will be logged out of your account, and your administrator will receive an email so they can finish their end of the onboarding, which should take no more than 5 minutes.
