How to Map a Clock to a Job

Last Updated: Aug 17, 2015 12:35PM EDT
If you run a company and have many employees working different jobs, it can be helpful to set up designated time clocks that are each mapped to a specific job. Since each clock is tied to one specific job, employees can easily get into the routine of automatically clocking in on one particular clock to punch in for the day performing a specific job. Here is how to do so:

  • Log onto your FingerCheck account, go to the “Setup” tab, and click on "Clock Management." Then select the clock you want to map to a job.
  • Go to "Clock Mapped To" and select "Job Code." All the job codes you have created will be listed here. Note: In order to select the job you need to have created the job first within the system. Click here to learn how.
  • Go to "Clock Mapped to Code" and select the job code you want the clock mapped to. Once you've done this, click "Save."

Your clock is all set to be used! Now any employee who punches in using that clock will be punched in for the job you chose.
